Flood-free Žaliakalnis

The city of Kaunas, where life thrives in spite of rain or shine, faces an important task - to ensure that its surface water drainage system is not only efficient, but also resilient to the challenges of the weather. Our recent project in Žaliakalnis is a perfect example of this ambition.

During heavy rains, residents' properties were often flooded, so it was important to take action. The project reconstructed 287 meters of old pipelines, newly built 1 543 meters of rainwater networks and a modern surface water treatment plant, as well as 95 new sets of manholes. We are particularly proud of the fact that we have carried out three complex pipeline installations in the challenging slopes of Žaliakalnis, using the concrete trench method, effectively overcoming the geographical challenges.

We are pleased to have been able to contribute to the well-being of the city of Kaunas and its residents, ensuring that the heaviest rains no longer interfere with their tranquility and safety.
